My Story

Hi! I'm Ana, the creator behind Kashi - a small Portuguese business specializing in 3D printed decorative pieces with handmade finishing touches. Creativity has always been part of my life, starting at age 10 when I made bracelets to sell to friends. After several creative ventures, I found in 3D printing the perfect tool to bring my ideas to life.

Why Kashi?

The name "Kashi" comes from Japanese, meaning "oak" - a protected tree in Portugal from which cork is harvested. Like the oak, which grows strong and resilient, each piece I create is unique and made to last. I chose this name for its sound and the symbolism it carries.

Our Creative Process

Each piece begins with inspiration - it might be something I've seen, an idea that sparked, or a challenge I want to solve. Using 3D printing technology and artisanal finishing, I transform these ideas into unique objects. I love trying new things, and lately, I've been especially dedicated to painting pieces, adding an even more personal touch to each creation.

Sustainability and Quality

Sustainability is an important part of our process. I work primarily with local suppliers and seek to minimize waste in every project. For example, I avoid large multicolor prints to reduce filament waste. Every decision, from material choice to finishing process, is made with quality and environmental responsibility in mind.

Stories That Make Us Smile

One of my favorite stories is about a store client who asked for a lamp to sell in his shop. When he saw the final result, he liked it so much he decided to keep it for himself! Of course, I made another one for the store, but this kind of reaction is exactly what I aim for with each piece I create - that "So cute!" moment that makes eyes light up.

Present and Future

Currently, I divide my time between being a part-time mom, web developer, and Kashi's creator. I've been falling more and more in love with creating vases and painting dolls, and I dream of exploring the world of dollhouse miniatures in the future.

Our Mission

Kashi exists to create decorative pieces and gifts that bring joy to both givers and receivers. I want each product to be not just another object, but something that makes you smile every time you look at it.

Community

As a web developer and 3D printing enthusiast, I'm part of various Portuguese online communities of makers and programmers. This connection allows me to keep learning and evolving, bringing new ideas and techniques to my creations.

Thank you for being part of this creative journey! If you'd like to know more or have any questions, I'm always available at ana@kashi.pt ????
